The SSI Scuba Diver to Open Water Upgrade course is designed specifically for certified Scuba Divers who want to complete their training and earn the full Open Water Diver certification. In just one day, you'll bridge the gap between supervised diving and independent diving worldwide.
The course begins with additional academic sessions covering the topics not included in the Scuba Diver course. You'll learn about deeper dive planning, navigation basics, more detailed decompression theory, and the knowledge required to dive independently to 18 meters (60 feet).
Next comes confined water training where you'll practice the remaining skills needed for full certification. These include deeper water entries, advanced buoyancy control, compass navigation, and additional emergency procedures. Your instructor ensures you're comfortable with all Open Water Diver requirements.
Finally, you'll complete two additional open water dives to a maximum depth of 18 meters (60 feet). These dives apply your enhanced skills in real-world conditions while exploring Kuta Lombok's deeper reefs and marine life. You'll practice navigation, deeper descents, and safety stops while building confidence for independent diving.
