The SSI Wreck Diving Specialty at Signature Scuba Kuta Lombok teaches divers how to safely explore sunken ships, airplanes, and artificial reefs around southern Lombok.
Under the guidance of our SSI & PADI certified instructors, you’ll learn wreck navigation, line and reel usage, penetration techniques (limited to the light zone), hazard identification, and specialized fin kicks for confined spaces.

📖 Course Overview
The SSI Wreck Diving Specialty course is a comprehensive program that combines academic learning with practical in-water training. Over four days, you'll complete four specialized wreck dives under the direct supervision of an experienced SSI Instructor.
The course begins with classroom sessions covering wreck history, legal considerations, environmental impacts, and hazard identification. You'll learn about different types of wrecks (ships, planes, artificial reefs), how they become marine habitats, and the specific risks associated with each. The curriculum includes detailed instruction on wreck penetration limits (staying within the light zone), proper use of guidelines and reels, and emergency procedures specific to wreck environments.
During the practical dives, you'll practice wreck approach techniques, navigation around and inside wrecks, line and reel deployment, entanglement prevention, and buoyancy control in confined spaces. You'll learn to identify unstable structures, sharp edges, and potential entrapment hazards. The course also covers site assessment, including evaluating currents, visibility, entry/exit points, and determining whether conditions are appropriate for wreck diving.
Upon successful completion, you'll earn the SSI Wreck Diving Specialty certification, allowing you to safely explore wreck sites around the world within recreational limits. This certification also counts toward the SSI Master Diver rating and provides essential training for divers interested in technical wreck penetration courses.
